Employment Law

Everything arising from the relationship between a company and the people who work for it.

Everything arising from the relationship between a company and the people who work for it. That covers how people are engaged, on what terms, and under which category. It covers the policies that govern the workplace and the statutory obligations attached to them.

It covers what happens when the relationship changes or ends, whether through promotion, restructuring, resignation or termination. And it covers the compliance that sits underneath all of it, from wage and working condition requirements to workplace safety and harassment prevention.

What’s included

  • Employment, consultancy and contractor agreements
  • Correct classification of employees, consultants and interns
  • Workplace policies and employee handbooks
  • State-wise labour compliance across your locations
  • Workplace committee constitution and reporting obligations
  • Disciplinary processes, exits and settlements

How it runs

  1. Establish what applies

We map the obligations that attach to your company by headcount, state and sector, and tell you which are already met.

  2. Put the documents in place

Agreements and policies drafted to the position we have just mapped, written so a manager can act on them.

  3. Keep it current

The map is revisited when the business changes — a new state, a new shift pattern, a threshold crossed.

Common questions

When does a workplace committee become mandatory?

Thresholds are set by statute and turn on headcount, and there are separate requirements for different committees. We assess your position and tell you which apply and by when.

Can we engage people as consultants instead of employees?

Sometimes, and the label on the contract is not what decides it. What matters is how the relationship actually works in practice. Getting this wrong creates liability for past periods, so it is worth settling early.
