StandingLawyers wants this website to be usable by as many people as possible, including those who use assistive technology.

What we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 at level AA. This is the standard commonly used to judge whether a site is accessible.

What we have done

• Text and background colours are checked against the contrast ratios the guidelines require, rather than judged by eye.
• The site can be operated by keyboard alone, and the element in focus is always visibly indicated.
• Pages use proper headings and landmarks so screen readers can navigate them.
• Images carry text alternatives, and decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
• Movement and animation are switched off automatically for anyone whose system asks for reduced motion.
• Layouts work at small screen sizes and when text is enlarged.

Known limitations

Documents we publish for download, and the embedded map on our contact page, come from third parties and may not fully meet the same standard. If either creates a barrier for you, contact us and we will provide the information another way.
